Jennifer Cossins is a Tasmanian artist and writer who is best known for her book 101 Collective Nouns which made headlines in 2018 after the Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway sparked an international search for the Tasmanian author on The Ellen Show. She is also known in Australia for her book A-Z of Endangered Animals, which was an Honour Book in the 2017 Australian Children’s Book Council awards, and her Baby Animals Book which was a Notable Book in 2018.
Tasmanian born and bred, Jennifer founded her business, Red Parka, in 2008 with a stall at local markets. In 2015. she opened her own store, which has become an institution for contemporary and original art and design in Hobart. She creates original art prints, children’s books, cards and homewares, which she sells in her store alongside work by many other independent artists from Tasmania, Australia and beyond.
